Meet Your Paralegal

IMG_7975.JPG

Alicia was born and raised in King County Washington before moving to the Central Valley area of California at age 19. Alicia was previously a stay-at-home mother. She began pursuing a legal career to provide for her then 4-year-old and a newborn after a turbulent divorce and has since remarried. Alicia graduated with Highest Honors from the Fresno City College Paralegal Program during the pandemic, with both her Paralegal Certificate as well as her Associates of Science degree.

Alicia interned and subsequently worked as a paralegal for a Workers’ Compensation attorney representing first responder applicants in Clovis, California. Alicia moved back up to the Pacific Northwest in 2021 to be closer to family, and now works as a family law paralegal under attorney John Randolph. She enjoys her job and feels privileged to walk alongside and encourage others who are facing arguably one of the most difficult seasons in their life – whether that is domestic violence, divorce, custody, or a combination thereof.

Alicia continued her education at Lewis-Clark State College Coeur d’Alene where she is anticipated to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal, with Honors, May 2024. She is taking this next year to study for the LSAT exam and to spend extra time with her family before entering law school. She hopes to study law at Gonzaga.

Outside of work, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family, painting, gardening, cooking, raising rabbits, and serving as a board member and head of hospitality at her local church. She has a golden retriever "Willow" and two melanistic Bengal cats "Toothless" and "Hookfang."

“John has been a good mentor and has taught me a lot. He truly cares about our clients and gives them realistic expectations based on the facts of their case. John has had to overcome a lot in his personal mental health journey. I have worked with him throughout this time, and I hold a lot of respect for him. John has always operated with a high-level of integrity and he expects the same from me. We feel it is a privilege to serve our clients.” - Alicia Bertolero
